Litchfield National Park

darwin arts

The Litchfield National Park is a stunning display of the Northern Territory’s natural beauty. Established in 1986, Litchfield’s 1500 square kilometer park hosts more than a quarter of a million people each year. With so many breathtaking sights, visitors can spend several days in Litchfield and still not experience all that it has to offer. Nine waterfalls dot the landscape, raging from the Wangi Falls, which are the most accessible falls, to the double waterfall at the Florence Falls. The Magnetic Termite Mounds rise nearly two meters tall and are perfectly aligned north to south. The mounds feature such architectural wonders as chimneys, arches, and tunnels. The Cathedral Termite Mounds are equally impressive standing more than 4 meters high. The Tabletop Swamp teems with native wildlife and plant species.
